Artificial Intelligence for Computational Pathology
My PhD focuses on the use of deep learning for the detection of lymph node metastases in histological images. Histological images are huge – in the multi giga-pixel scale (billions of pixels), which means that applying computer vision techniques to these images is non-trivial. Particularly, I am interested in the detection of small metastases in these images (micro mets or isolated tumour cells), which span just a few pixels.
